The Mechanical Life
In yesterday’s posts I sense an automotive theme, gas prices, the navy, and such.
Jeff is a master mechanic. I remember the very first time I met Jeff. He was covered in grease and swearing like a sailor, and that was before he even got to his car. I remember all of those old times seeing Jeff working on some car, the parts all arranged carefully on a white sheet for easy reassembly. Of course, then he’d skin his knuckles on something and we’d spend the next hour looking for some tiny spring before deciding it wasn’t really that important.
I feel confident that it is the memory of those good times that prompted Jeff to post so many things with a mechanical flavor. Especially the stuff about the dogs, lots of mechanical flavor there, at least dogs have a mechanical flavor anyway.
So great is Jeff’s love of the automobile and its innards that he would often tell me how lamented the fact that he had to go to sleep and miss out on throwing some contraption across the room for three hours a night. I still remember his crazy schedule that included the phrase, “On Tuesday I sleep.” And it looks like he may be able to return to his once beloved schedule of sleeping only on Tuesdays. And then no car is safe from his tender loving care.
Well, that’s about it Jeff fans. Come back tomorrow and I’ll see if I can post the pictures of Jeff in a tutu pulling the motor from a ’66 Mustang.
