Fractal Speeding

Jeff does have a tendency to drive a little on the fast side. It was interesting seeing the video of the mandelbrot fractals in Jeff’s post yesterday. I remember the first time that I saw imagery like that, and it was in Jeff’s car. Who knew that a Chevette would actually go fast enough to induce hallucination. The only real difference was that the colors leaned towards black and yellow as opposed to shades of blue, but the effect was pretty much the same.

Jeff recently had to resort to riding his bike everywhere, the police did not condone his love of speed induced hallucination and asked him to stop. It seems clear that Jeff was missing the swirly sensation of trees becoming fractal shapes based on the golden spiral and had to find some other outlet. It’s just a good thing that mathematicians also do lots of drugs and can appreciate that kind of behavior.

Tomorrow Jeff continues his quest for the perfect mind altering web experience and its connection to the music of Don Henley.
