Supposedly true travel agent stories

I had someone ask for an aisle seats so that his or her hair wouldn’t get messed up by being near the window.
A client called in inquiring about a package to Hawaii. After going over all the cost info, she asked, “Would it be cheaper to fly to California and then take the train to Hawaii?”

I got a call from a woman who wanted to go to Capetown. I started to explain the length of the flight and the passport information when she interrupted me with “I’m not trying to make you look stupid, but Capetown is in Massachusetts.” Without trying to make her look like the stupid one, I calmly explained, “Capecod is in Massachusetts, Capetown is in Africa.” Her response … click.

A Tiger and His Ball

Now, do I really want to know what Jeff was up to when he found Tiger Woods playing with a tiny ball and crooked stick? Sometimes mysteries are best left that way.

I’ll give Jeff the benefit of the doubt and assume that he was looking up Nike golf and happened upon that commercial. Jeff is well known in select circles as being profoundly gifted in the manipulation of small objects. He worked as a juggler in the circus at a very young age and later went on to be the first person in the world to teach a Bengal tiger to juggle ping pong balls with its mouth. Sadly, that act ended in tragedy when the tiger inhaled at the wrong moment and choked on the ball. When one of the other handlers tried to administer the Heimlich maneuver the tiger bit him and everyone else decided to just let the bloody cat die. So, that may be why Jeff was so excited by a Tiger playing with a tiny ball. At least that’s what I hope.

Tune in tomorrow for more pumpkins and dubiously off color humor.
