Thought for the day ~ Sam Harris (followed by jeff)

Despite a full century of scientific insights attesting to the antiquity of the earth, more than half of our neighbors believe that the entire cosmos was created six thousand years ago. This is, incidentally, about a thousand years after the Sumerians invented glue.

Sam is referring to believers in the Young Earth theory. More background on that theory can be found here.

We may explore the Young Earth theory at some point at length, as it’s proponents believe that the reason that there is no scientific evidence to support their claims is that the scientific community conspires to suppress such evidence, hence it would provide a great deal of material for our Conspiracy Theories category. Unfortunately, exploring their claims would require me to read profound amounts of their material and as yet I have not had the stomach for exposing myself to their drivel in such large doses.

Propriety?

Okay, the post about the doctor and the stripper. The bad jokes beg to be told. Really they do, but I really don’t want to move this out of the Safe for work realm. So, just use your imagination and combine Stripper, doctor, hand, and job over and over again in your head, and just pretend you read those jokes here. Trust me this will work.

I could spend hours playing with this little gadget. It’s like pong, but different.

And have you folks been keeping up with the astronaut that went a little batty? If not google “astronaut” and “attempted murder”, that oughtta sort you out.
