Own a bit of history
I found this sourdough bread starter thingy through BoingBoing. I have to say, I’m not sure if I’m excited by the idea of eating part of a critter that is over a century old or really, really creeped out. Maybe a bit of both.
I’m also quite amused by the fact that this is a tradition being kept alive on the internet. There’s just something about the rustic life and digital technology that doesn’t seem to mesh. And that’s our theme for this week: When the cabin gets Cable Internet, the showdown.
Jeff’s already started that one with his post of the kid that won a .17 caliber rifle in some contest. Now, I’m not against gun ownership, or even minors having guns, but seriously, normal people have some age restrictions on that kind of thing. Alas, not always the case. You’re never too young to dust your sister, I guess.
