Math and Religion

Kabbalah is very Math heavy. But it’s a weird kind of statistical anomoly math. I found this page on Math and Kabbalah. I have to say, a lot of it looks a little made up.

Although I didn’t see it on this particular website I have seen lots of reference to the “Bible Code” where people use the mathematical system outlined to tell the future. However, nearly all of the predictions are a little Nostradamus like, incredibly vague until after some event and then the relevant details are filled in. I find it amazing that a book meant as a history and moral guidebook would also take the time to talk about the minutae of daily life 3,000-5,000 years after it was written.

Kabbalah is rather intimately involved in Mathematics. I wonder how much of that was exposure of the early Jews to Pythagoras? Or if some Jewish Mathematician was doodling around and started to notice patterns if you changed letters to numbers. Next thing you know there’s a new secret society in town.

Tune in tomorrow when we look at the math of chaos.
