Playing at Wordplay ~ Excellent Cryptogram Flash Game

Found at Teppo.TV, this Cryptogram game may well become a new fixation for me for a while. It works extremely well, and may even be appealing to those who get frustrated with Cryptograms done via paper and pencil.

For those who don’t know, a cryptogram is a code breaking puzzle (’crypto’ as in ‘cryptology’) in which all the letters of an otherwise easily read message are replaced, usually with different letters or numbers. To solve a cryptogram, begin by looking for frequent letter patterns, like ‘th’, the word ‘a’, double letters (such as ‘oo’ or ‘ll’).

Playing at Wordplay ~ what’s your high score?

Your Words are words that the game does not have listed amongst the 677 answers it is looking for. Right Words are the words that you found that are pre-listed. All words that the game counts are between 3 and 10 letters in length. How many Right Words can you come up with?

Just so you don’t try the obvious, it does not recognize ’sectarianism’.

Go figure.

When Life Gets a Little too Simple

Have you ever had one of those days when every thing was going just right?

You know, the kind of day when someone says, “Have a nice day!” and you don’t want to kill them. And doesn’t that just throw you off a little bit? By the end of the day you’re looking for the catastrophe that is going to make the next few weeks a living hell trying to pick up the pieces from your dog dying and your boss getting fired, leaving you in charge of a project that’s three months behind and $8,000,000 over budget. And that’s really no way to spend a good day.

That’s why you need the Problematic (c)tm patent pending! It will make your life just a little bit uncomfortable so you don’t have to spend the day waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Remember when life gets easy something Problematic is just around the corner.

**I did warn you there would be a willful violation of the English language.

Tune in tomorrow for even more atrocities on our native tongue. Like lemonade and root beer.

sorry

Questionable Content

No, I’m not talking about the Webcomic. I found a fun vid on Netscape.com based on phonetic similarity, and it does sound a bit like swearing. Consequently, it would be advisable not to watch it with the volume up, but then you won’t get the joke. But it is pretty funny.

And I think the fox hat was the right choice.

I’ll leave that up to your discretion.
