Kurt Vonnegut
I went looking to see if I could find Vonnegut’s last words - so sue me for being insensitive… I liked the man’s mind, liked his writing, but I have a job to do here.
Anyway, what I found was much preferable. It’s an article Vonnegut wrote in 2004 providing an overview of his feelings about current world affairs - not much different in 2007 than they were in 2004, and is well worth the read. The article can be found at InTheseTimes.com, a magazine for which Kurt Vonnegut was a senior editor.
And for anyone who’s wondering, in the article Vonnegut states that his anticipated final words were “Life is no way to treat an animal, not even a mouse.”

Change in Plans
How can I follow yesterday’s posts with a talk about Art? So, I’ll hold back on that for a bit.
I wish that some of my students were that clever, but a lot of them tend to fail in desperation as opposed to with flair. Of course, the nature of my students might have a little something to do about that. I teach in a prison.
You know, perhaps I’m giving a little too much of myself away. Before you know it some scoundrel could deconstruct these posts and tell the world where I live, what kind of car I drive, and what my favorite ice cream is. It’s a dangerous world out there and you have to be careful of what you say and do on the internet.
My main fear with someone posting information about me is that it would be wrong.
Tune in tomorrow, and maybe we’ll get to some Art.
