Back on the Right Side of the Planet

Well, we made it back from the other side of the planet safe and sound. But very, very tired.

It’s really been a while since I had a gander at what Jeff was up to on the site, and I was in for quite the surprise when I checked the Pumpkin out the other day. Quite the extended rants about freedom and race and other stuff that it’s hard to find funny. Makes me wonder just what has been going on in Jeff’s world. Maybe it’s all those long hours listening to Jim Gaffigan followed by a Richard Pryor marathon that got him going. Or maybe Jeff has been contemplating that race change operation again. You never know with him.

I thought about posting pictures from the Holocaust memorial in Berlin just to stay in theme of racial tension taken to extremes, but then thought better of it. Again, there’s nothing funny there. Although, I did find it amusing, in a twisted sort of way, to see tourists in cheesy poses standing on some of the blocks that make up the memorial. There is truly nothing stranger than seeing a group of Asians kick up their heels and give a thumbs up to a camera in front of a memorial to millions of murdered people. Unless, of course, you count the memorial itself. Three thousand or so concrete blocks of varying height laid out in a grid. And, according to the pamphlet, created with no particular symbolism in mind. I was glad and a little confused when I read that tidbit, because I couldn’t make heads or tails of what was going on there.

Anyway, I’m back and have a bunch of photos and stories to share with you, stay tuned, and maybe we’ll sort out what Jeff’s been up to in the process.
