I hate doing this, but could this one be explained to me? Gosh I feel dumb…

When you open the link to the Google map of San Francisco there is a black floating square in the middle of the street. Jeff believes this is where the alien invasion will occur (e.g. a hole in the space time continuum).

Sorry RayneStar, sometimes even in real life I begin conversations mid-stream, having played out the first half of the conversation in my head and forgetting that others were not privy.
The attached link is to a new level of Google maps that has recently begun being offered, wherein you can actually navigate the street map at a street level view. This one struck me funny because there is a gaping hole where Google has apparently not got an image available yet, and so I was trying to find some “tear in reality” reference to go along with the image.

Update: Found out from Pyrophage that on his terminal the street level view in the link posted above displays just fine. I’ve checked it again today and checked in on a couple of computers through the course of the day and on all of them the street level image has a square black hole occupying the entirety of the street the camera is looking down.
Sorry for the confusion.
