Well, we shot a short film the other weekend. We have some pick up footage to take care of, but it’s largely done. All I need is about ten minutes of one of the principle actors time and we can have it up here, and, undoubtedly, on YouTube. So, I intend to have this bad boy ready to go by July 20th. That leaves my actor and myself a weekend to get this stuff taken care of. So, seriously, next Friday check us out and you’ll see some actual original content, or you’ll here an audio message from that unnamed actor saying “I’m sorry” in a variety of silly voices.
Some of you may have noticed that Warren Ellis is in our blogroll on the left. Some of you may have been wondering what a violinist has to do with bad humor. Well, you people are alternatively inclined in the wrong fashion. That link does not go to a page dedicated to the Warren Ellis from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, rather, it goes to the writer Warren Ellis. Warren does comics, and has lately spread out into the more accepted forms of media here lately. He has a number of journalistic projects out there and he just published his first novel, Crooked Little Vein, this year and he has another coming out soon.
Sadly, Warren is in San Diego right now. I find this sad because I live very far away from California and can’t afford to go see him. That way I could find out the answers to all of those pressing questions that I have. Is he really that bitter? And just what the hell is he doing on Modblog anyway? (He tends to link to some of the more disconcerting images from that site.) And then I could see if I could get a vein to pop out on his neck by asking if he thinks he’s selling out by going “mainstream” with a novel and writing for Marvel.
People love it when you tell them that what they do was just for money. I know I do a lot of stuff for money. Drunken Pumpkin was started to make money. It didn’t work, but that’s not really the point, now is it? (By the way, feel free to click on any of the sponsors and give them lots of cash. They really are fine people.)
Go check out Warren’s page, but don’t click on any image that he has linked. If he didn’t feel comfortable putting it right there on his page you really don’t want to see it. Oh, and by the way, his page really isn’t work safe.
