Election Highlights

I know the election isn’t for another year, but let’s have a looksee at some of the folks we’re likely to see a lot of over the next 17 months.

I’m mainly looking at the Politics1 website for my info at present. It has a nice index, and that’s what’s important at this stage of the game. Remember that when doing research folks, find big answers, then go after the little detailed answers.

Okay, most of these folks I’ve never heard of, so I’ll just make fun of their names, because that’s a valid political position, just ask Fox news.

Newt Gingrich is apparently acting like a presidential wannabe. However, I don’t see it happening. When Newt was a member of the House and got caught with his pants down the rest of his party dropped him like a hot potato. Then again, that was also right around the time they were trying to crucify Clinton for the same sort of thing. Maybe being a blatant hypocrite was a little worrying back then, and isn’t so much now. But I know I don’t want a chap named “Newt” as my leader, all of the worlds pagans will be after his eyes for their magic potions, and that’s just no good.

Rudy Giuliani is also giving it a go. I don’t trust that man at all. He got voted out of office and then tried to use the 9/11 attacks as an excuse to stay in office. We really don’t need someone with that kind of mentality in the Oval office right on the heels of a President that has done his level best to take away all of our civil rights.

Mike Huckabee doesn’t really have a shot either. I mean, he can’t make little buttons that say “I heart Huckabee” without getting sued. That’s no way for a candidacy to start.

My favorite Republican so far is Ron Paul. You never know, with some of those folks with bad eyesight, or really slow brains, they might read it as RuPaul and think that having a giant, black, drag queen as president would be pretty sweet. At least the White House would start to look a little more stylish.

Okay, that’s enough of that. Try again tomorrow when I take a look at some of the Democratic candidates. And after that we’ll move on to some of the more “serious” candidates. That ought to be a hoot.
