Pyrophage has recently been discussing his visits to the gym
I found this video that represents fairly accurately my experiences when working out at the gym.

I found this video that represents fairly accurately my experiences when working out at the gym.
A group of friars were behind on their belfry payments, so they opened up a small florist shop to raise funds. Since everyone liked to buy flowers from the men of God, a rival florist across town thought the competition was unfair. He ask ed the good fathers to close down, but they would not. He went back and begged the friars to close. They ignored him. So, the rival florist hired Hugh MacTaggart, the roughest and most vicious thug in town to “persuade” them to close. Hugh beat up the friars and trashed their store, saying he’d be back if they didn’t
close up shop.

Due to a weird pricing situation it made sense at the time to sign up for cable tv when we got internet at the house. I must say, this is the first time I have had cable in my life, and it is quite an odd experience. I grew accustomed to controlling my media, movies were at my whim, and I could pee whenever I felt the need. Now, when I make the talking box be quiet it keeps right on talking without me and I miss stuff. Very strange.
I know some of you might say that I could get a TiVo or some such device and fix that problem, as well as the commercial interruption situation, but that seems like a bit of a strange solution. One piece of technology made my life more complicated, so I’ll add another layer of technology to sort that out. I don’t like it. Where will it end? Will I soon need a special timer to tell me when to turn on the Tivo and watch my saved programs because my hard drive is full and it’s going to start deleting stuff? Why don’t I just watch things on disc, like I used to and be done with the whole bloody mess.
Well, I’m stuck with the talking box for about another 9 months, when the promotional period ends it goes away and order is restored to the universe.
Tune in tomorrow for adventures about town with me and Mrs. Pyro.
