Lawmaker Shows Nude Photo to Students

Wed Oct 3, 2007 9:10 AM EDTus-news, odd-news, odd, porn, digital, politicianAssociated PressNORWALK — A state legislator surprised a high school class when the computer he was using projected a photo of a nude woman during a lecture on how a bill becomes a law.

State Rep. Matthew Barrett was giving a civics lesson Tuesday when he inserted a data memory stick into the school computer and the projected image of a topless woman appeared instead of the graphics presentation he had downloaded.

Police interviewed Barrett and school officials and seized the data memory stick and the computer to determine where the image came from, a state highway patrol spokesman said.

Barrett said there were a few snickers from the approximately 20 students in the senior government class at Norwalk High School when the image appeared. He said he immediately pulled the memory stick out of the computer.

The legislator said he finished his lecture using printouts and then met with the school’s principal and technology staff, who examined the stick. He said the school’s technology director determined the stick had a directory of nude images in addition to Barrett’s presentation on civics lessons.

“I have no idea where these came from,” the Democrat said.

Barrett said the data memory stick was a gift he received about three weeks ago from a legislative liaison from the state Library of Ohio.

Biting is Restraint

I was actually watching the news this morning. Mainly, because I found out one of my friends from high school is a floor director on the program. I always wondered what kind of directions one gave to a floor. Now I know.

Anyway, during the course of the program they mentioned a lab technician losing their job for biting a child. I wondered just what was up with that. The excuse given was that she was restraining the kid and bit him. Now, my experience in this is a little limited, but I would imagine that if you bite a kid, they kind of flip out, instead of calm down. Or, maybe I just spent too much of my youth with some high strung people. It’s a definite possibility.

I spent yesterday and today talking to mortgage people. I really love how self-referential the housing industry is. We can’t really start a bid on the house until we have a loan pre-approval and letter of credit, or some such. And we can’t start the ball rolling on the loan until we have a bid in on the house, so that they know what it is we want. Maybe, I should try out that biting restraint technique on the mortgage lender.

Part of me is starting to think apartment life really isn’t all that bad. I don’t have a lawn to mow, and landlords really just want to know if I can afford the rent. None of this, what are you going to do with the house in 15 years stuff. That’s another selling point of renting, I don’t have to make a decades long commitment over the course of a few days or weeks. Hell, I knew my wife for 3 months before we dated. And we dated for a year before we got engaged. Long term commitments require some time. It’s like the realtor is a pimp trying to set me up with an exclusive deal for the rest of my life with some hooker I just met. And the bank isn’t having any of that. They just want to charge me interest, but not give me enough to keep up with the hookers Rohypnol habit. Also known as roofing.

Okay, enough bad puns and freakish metaphors. I just installed pidgin on my computer, and thought maybe I should be there for all of you folks in the wee hours. Or whenever I happen to be on my computer. So, I started an ICQ account just for the Pumpkin. So, get yourself some Pidgin, and an ICQ account and look for ICQ number 424081529, that’s me. If you talk to me I’ll probably talk back. If you spam me, I’ll block your id and tell your mother what you did with that goldfish. You know what I’m talking about.

Tune in tomorrow when I realize it’s a horrible mistake to invite strangers to talk to you and I make up some lame excuse why I’m never online anymore.
