Okay, just to obsess a bit. I went to the Is it Christmas site that Jeff posted on Friday.
Now, I’ve been trying to understand a bit of this “programming” stuff that everyone says the interwub is full of these days so I had a look-see at the source. I thought there might be some clever little bit of fun that had it checking calendars or something. Nope, it’s just hard coded to say “No”. I wonder if they’ll go back and change it on Christmas day? I guess if they do we’ll know where they live. Well, at least what time zone. Assuming they’re a little OCD and change it at midnight. Which is what I’d do.

It’s entirely likely that this was done in PHP, so the source code you see is merely the HTML output of the logic statements that they have coded - if you go back on christmas day, it may read ‘Yes’ because someone went back to their page and changed the code, or that the conditions laid out in PHP have finally been met.
