I love running gags

A long while back I posted a link to a site dedicated to detailing all of the dangers of that infamously destructive chemical Dihydrogen Monoxide (water). According to this article on Scoop.co.nz, a New Zealand news source, New Zealand’s Green Party had declared absolute support for a ban on this dangerous toxin.

The only thing I love more than a really involved joke is one that goes on for years.

Boring couple sues Google for invading their privacy

Aaron and Christine Boring bought the home in Franklin Park, a Pittsburgh suburb, in October 2006 for a “considerable sum of money,” according to their 10-page lawsuit filed Wednesday in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court.

The suit targets the Mountain View, Calif., company over images on its Web site, which allows users to find street-level photos by clicking on a map. To gather the photos, Google uses vehicles with mounted digital cameras to take pictures up and down the streets of major metropolitan areas.

The Borings say the images of their home on the Google site had to be taken from their long driveway, labeled “Private Road,” and that violated their privacy.

Did Easter Sunday see an elaborate billboard prank?

All religions are fairy tales

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — It looked harmless enough, but the words on a billboard un-nerved so many people that a popular restaurant nearby actually lost business.

The billboard was on Colonial Drive near the Old Cheney Highway. Although the popular Straub’s Seafood restaurant often advertises on it, this wasn’t their billboard. The sign was taken down after Channel 9 started asking questions.

The billboard came down around 4:00 Friday afternoon and nearby business owners are relieved. Straub’s restaurant can replace the sign with the night’s specials.

At first glance the sign looked like a children’s cartoon, but the message next to the fairy princess stirred emotions.

Fort Wayne, Indiana bomb squad called out to defuse a turnip

An employee at Haller & Colvin Attorneys at Law called 911 Thursday after opening a U.S. Postal Service box and finding a suspicious gift bag inside, police said.

Officers then called the city’s bomb unit, which brought in a robot to carry the package outside to a parking lot. X-rays showed no signs of an explosive, but bomb technicians decided to detonate the package with a water cannon just to be safe, police spokesman Michael Joyner said.

After that, they opened the box and found the turnip, wrapped in lettuce-green tissue paper inside a sandwich bag.

Bush speaks to personnel about their work in Afghanistan

“I must say, I’m a little envious,” Bush said. “If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed.”

“It must be exciting for you … in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You’re really making history, and thanks,” Bush said.

112 FAA Aviation Inspector’s badges are missing

The federal government insists it does it’s best to keep the traveling public safe and secure, but apparently dozens of federal inspectors failed to do that with their own credentials.

Aviation expert Denny Kelly says “the FAA badge of all the badges is probably the most dangerous of any other.”

An NBC5 investigation reveals over the past 5 years, 112 FAA aviation inspector badges have been stolen or lost.

Denny Kelly says “with that badge you can get in the cockpit in flight.”
